Development Comp Format

After taking some advice from our friendly visiting Canadian, thanks Bill, we are proud to announce a new format for this year’s Development Comp. Games will be played in a 3 on 3 format with special rules to maximise the ice time available as well as game play possible to all kids. This format has been used successfully in Canada to provide and entertaining, challenging and most importantly skill developing summer format.

·         3 on 3 skaters

·         Non Contact – No Slap Shots

·         3 x 15 min running time periods – 5 min warm-up

·         5 teams – 13 (12 players) per team

·         No face-offs for offside or icings – possession turned over

·         All minor penalties result in penalty shot

·         1 min interval buzzer for shift changes

·         No players on the ice until all three changing players off the ice

·         Game stoppages for goals only

·         One on-ice official per game – One off-ice official per game

·         No stats recorded only results
