What the Preso saw
Sunday morning 5am start off to the rink to help prepare for the SAINTS first Atoms Round Robin.
6am at the rink, & the working bee is in full swing already with Tyrone & Annette Sables & boys & Patrick & Ellesse Carini already working.
The day went seemingly without a hitch after we rectified our scoreboard timer counting up instead of down & the penalty clock not counting anything. Oh well lets hope there wont be any penalties.
The best run ever , Atoms event, started on time at 7 with changeroom screens easily moved in to place to give us 3 screened off changing areas plus our 3 normal changerooms.
From all reports, gossip & general talk, a great day was had by all, with our team going through undefeated, & although no places were awarded we all know who number one is ( & its not the other guys ). Its great to see the Atoms playing hockey ignoring the crowd,having a ball and still winning like they were mean’t to, all with a smile on their face. Just goes to show winners are grinners.
Special thanks to Tyrone who made it all happen & who I.H.N.S.W. are pursuing for N.S.W. Development Officer, ( wow imagine the money!!!!!!!! )
Thanks to Annette for putting up with him, many thanks to the SAINTS Atom’s parents, who helped in so many ways from the merchandise store, to scoring & time keeping to treasury to the music and to our compare & of course to Mick Lynch and his helpers on and off the ice officiating.
Without the tireless efforts, of these volounteers, events like this and most everything, that happens around our club, would not be possible.
If you would like to offer a helping hand for the Club and most importantly our kids and players, please contact any of us on the committee, all help is very much needed and appreciated.
Officials from I.H.N.S.W. were so impressed they asked could we run one each month, of the year ???????? Yeah right, if only we had this & that & them & it goes on and on.
Our thanks to the Officials from I.H.N.S.W. Ivan & Renata Manco, Shep, Damien , Ellesse ,Madey Danaan Lawton & Lachlan Allport all who helped Mick on & off the ice & not dishing out too many penalties ( especially since the penalty clock would’nt work)
Time to think about another event at our club , stay tuned.
